As the new decade approaches, I thought this would be a perfect time for reflection. Not just about myself, but on my online presence as well.

This website, in its earliest incarnation, dates back to late 1999. Then, the website and the blog were separate entities: The website was hosted by the now defunct Geocites and the blog was on the equally defunct DiaryLand. Times were good and things were simple. Over the last ten years, JAO has evolved into many kinds of websites, all proclaiming a need for self expression. Now, I believe I’ve finally found a balance.

Welcome to the new justanobsession. I have taken the various facets that I still treasure and combined them in such a way that I believe they will most compliment each other. As always, there is room for future improvements. Some of the links don’t work, some of the layout needs tweaking. However, I see 2010 as a year for redefining that which makes me me.

Not long ago, I trundled through years of old posts and journals and tirades and weepings. When all was said and done, though it pained me (especially from a historian’s point of view), I logged into the mySQL databases. A few dropped tables later and the ties were permanently severed. I saved a few of the important pieces in a Word file to be backdated and reposted,  but I don’t view it as overmuch damage done. I’m only 23, and I have miles to go before I sleep.
