I’m in the middle of a war with my mother’s printer. It started small. All the invitations printed beautifully, but then the RSVP cards were slightly off. I fixed the problem via a work-around, but then every other card would jump track. I finally got all of them taken care of by feeding one at a time and waiting so many seconds before printing the next one, but then the envelopes happened.
Oh. My. God. Then envelopes. If I never have to print another envelope, it will be too soon. First, the printer only ate them. Then, it wouldn’t print properly on them. I ended up inverting the dimensions of the envelope, heavily indenting the addresses, switching the output orientation and holding my breath. I was nearly to the point of standing on one foot and juggling when it finally started working. Sometimes, though, it goes through a fit, just to see if I’ll fly into hysterics.
To top it off, I thought Mom had already gotten the stamps we’d decided on, but she only spoke to the postmistress about getting them in. I talked to the postmistress this morning and she said she went ahead and ordered them, but there’s no telling when they’ll be in. I went to every post office and shipping store in the tri-city area. NOBODY has this stamp anymore. Fun times. So, now I have to find two hundred stamps that look decent with the design of my invites and RSVP cards. At the last minute.
All of this wouldn’t be so much of a rush, because I had all week to get them done, but I’ve been sick for the bulk of the week. I just didn’t trust myself working on them when I was high on DayQuil. You know? Mostly, I just laid in the recliner in a house dress and stared out the window.
On the up side, all the invitation packets that are done look really ridiculously good. A number of people that have seen them mention that they look like I had them professionally done, which makes me feel awesome. Hopefully, all this will resolve itself and I can get them in the mail first thing in the morning. The countdown has begun.
